Amêsa Or The Song Of Despair is a monologue for two actresses, in which the duality of the human condition and the oscillation between optimism and pessimism in the process that led from the anti-colonial liberation struggle to the troubled period immediately before and after the independence of Angola.

 “Written in 1991, the drama brings into play the reality of an Amêsa woman, and her conflicts. Amêsa symbolizes the Angolan nation itself, which suffers when it realizes that it is destroyed by its own internal conflicts and lives on the thin line between hope and hopelessness”. Luciana Éboli (Brazil).language, transformed and influenced by gestures other than their own, which illustrate the path to take from here to ‘Aí’.
